MM activity, "Make it to the Temple", Provo-that is!

Well, we did it, even though some of us at times will go in "circles" in life or make wrong turns, or keep following the same destructive road, we do have our Savior and Heavenly Father to guide us and help us get back on the right path to him! I love you my mia maids, and as Sis Allen advised us, stay close to the Lord and choose friends wisely that our courageous in standing for the right, and date guys who will keep us on the right path to a happy life, eternal life and a temple marriage.

Thanks girls for participating and for Sis Allen who did a great job.

Welcome Kayla to MM!

Lesson 8 " Our Divine Roles"

President Spencer W. Kimball has given us this encouragement:

“To be a righteous woman is a glorious thing in any age. To be a righteous woman during the winding up scenes on this earth, before the second coming of our Savior, is an especially noble calling. The righteous woman’s strength and influence today can be tenfold what it might be in more tranquil times. She has been placed here to help to enrich, to protect, and to guard the home—which is society’s basic and most noble institution” (Ensign, Nov. 1978, p. 103).

President Spencer W. Kimball said:

“Young women should plan and prepare for marriage and the bearing and rearing of children. It is your divine right and the avenue to the greatest and most supreme happiness” (“Privileges and Responsibilities of Sisters,” Ensign, Nov. 1978, p. 103).

President David O. McKay said: “Motherhood is near to divinity. It is the highest, holiest service to be assumed by [a woman]” (in Conference Report, Oct. 1942, pp. 12–13).

President Spencer W. Kimball explained that “we made vows, solemn vows, in the heavens before we came to this mortal life.

“We have made covenants. We made them before we accepted our position here on the earth. …

“We committed ourselves to our Heavenly Father, that if He would send us to the earth and give us bodies and give to us the priceless opportunities that earth life afforded, we would keep our lives clean and would marry in the holy temple and would rear a family and teach them righteousness. This was a solemn oath, a solemn promise” (“Be Ye Therefore Perfect,” address given at the Salt Lake Institute of Religion, 10 Jan. 1975, p. 2).

Draper Temple with my family, Jan 2009

My family and I got the chance to go yesterday to the open house of the new temple in Draper, Utah. It was a beautiful experience to walk through with my husband Tommy and especially my daughters Naomi and Leilani. Naomi was so excited to go to the temple. She had a big smile the whole time through the temple. She especially loved the "diamond lights" (chandeliers).

I aksed Naomi what she thought of the temple and she said, " it wasn't that perfect"! HAHAHAHAHA!

After I told her it is the "house of the Lord and (Jesus)", she did ask me later, where is Jesus?

I guess because it hasn't been dedicated yet, its not yet perfect! ;)

new YW Value Virtue!

Virtue is the new YW value, here are some words from the first YW Presidency...

http://www.ldschurchnews.com/articles/56295/New-Young-Women-Value-Virtue.html

Like the gold Peruvian shawl the Young Women presidency unfurled at the top of Ensign Peak, the value of Virtue will be represented by gold — a precious metal that has long been known as a symbol of purity, said Sister Dalton. "When gold is refined, it is pure," she said.

"If you are virtuous, you are strong," added Sister Cook. "It is power and it is strength. It is all derived by being pure."

Sister Dibb noted that virtue is "what's a part of you that no one else will know. But you know and the Lord knows."

Sister Dalton compared gaining virtue to training for a marathon. "Virtue isn't something that you have instantly," she said. "It is strict training. It is the daily, deliberate practice of small things."
